The response to the contest which the Composers’ program of the Simon Verlag für Bibliothekswissen organized last year was very lively. It will be followed up by a fine edition of the pieces as well their composers rewarded by the contest.
Therefore we have decided to continue this project with a new contest:
The Composers’ program publicly announces a new contest for new pieces for voice and piano: five minute pieces for a female voice (soprano or mezzosoprano ) or a male voice (baritone or basso )accompanied by piano.
Also for this contest the Simon Verlag für Bibliothekswissen is envisaging an edition which will not only present the edition with the compositions but also the composers.
Besides stand alone pieces also songs/lieder from a greater cycle can be submitted. However we would ask to indicate this in a separate letter accompanying the composition. It must be possible to recognize the written scheme of the song/lied in relation to the whole cycle.
The texts for the pieces can be spoken in all world languages. However with the exception of German and English the original words must be written in international phonetic spelling.
For the piano the whole piece must be notated, all forms of shortskripts, not matter, if they are internationally recognized, cannot be accepted for the contest.
The contest does not know any barriers neither by age or region or state. ‘There are not restrictions by stylistic requirements.
We would ask you to send your contribution with your complete address, telephone number and email. Please also add a short letter of intent with your personal signature.
